Job Title: Financial Director/ Accounting Officer
Report to (title): Executive Director
Type of Position: Full-Time

Job Scope:
Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll. This includes reviewing and reconciling payable invoices, creating and maintaining receivable invoices, payments and receipts and administration of accounts. Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. The Financial Director will assist the Executive Director with financial management of the organization. The position will prepare useful and accurate financial statements and report material changes. Assist in grant proposals and assure appropriate internal controls are in place to reduce risk of fraud, breach of confidence or loss of data. The Financial Director will supervise other staff within the finance department and ensure TEEM’s finances, accounting and fiduciary responsibility are sound and in accordance with best practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll
• Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist the Executive Director in financial management of the company
• Prepare useful and accurate financial statements and disclose any material changes
• Assure appropriate internal controls are in place to reduce the risk of fraud, breach of confidence or loss of data
• File monthly workers’ compensation wage reports and provide accurate information for invoices and audits
• Review monthly ledger reports and quarterly reports for state and local contracts
• Perform payroll duties so all employees are properly compensated for services performed
• Ensure all payroll liabilities are paid in a timely manner
• Prepare and send payroll reports to the appropriate partners, organizations and grantors when required in a timely manner, in accordance with federal and state law
• Assist independent auditors in an annual internal audit
• Provide necessary financial information as requested by board members, Executive Director appropriate third parties or employees with privileges to view such information
• Assist with grant applications and provide support for development staff
• Oversee inventory level of the most commonly needed office equipment and supplies
• Place orders for organizational products and keep track of ordered items
• Ensure all vendors are paid in a timely manner, according to the vendor’s terms
• With the assistance of the Executive Director and Board Treasurer prepare an annual budget for the organization
• File health insurance invoices as needed
• Ensure participant payments are recorded in a timely manner
• Reconcile fuel receipts with biweekly fuel reports
• Maintain the accounting information system
• Assist with minor IT issues as needed
• Oversee and ensure financial deposits are made in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor



Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and have a combination of education and experience necessary to meet the expectation required and the responsibilities as outlined.

Education and Work Experience:
Master of Business Administration preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting related field
