POSITION PROFILE
The Enid Symphony Orchestra is seeking an Executive Director who understands the unique role orchestras play and is excited to help strengthen the orchestra's artistic impact on Northwest Oklahoma through its annual Subscription Concerts, Carnegie Link Up Educational Concerts, annual July 4th Concert and touring performances.
The Executive Director will work with the Board of Directors to strengthen contributed revenue and community engagement by serving as the organization's primary fundraiser. This involves cultivating new and maintaining established relationships with donors, concert sponsors, foundations and community partners. Additionally, the Executive Director will oversee day-to-day operations and management of the Enid Symphony Orchestra and the facilities of the Enid Symphony Center and its event space.
The successful candidate will inspire confidence and collaboration among musicians, board members, volunteers, donors, patrons, and community stakeholders while helping guide the future of one of Oklahoma's most historic cultural organizations.
Responsibilities: As Executive Director, duties include, but are not limited to:
- Implementation of the Board of Directors policies and procedures.
- Negotiation of contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Development of the annual operating budget and monthly financial reports.
- Preparation and management of federal, state, and foundation grant applications.
- Community engagement and relationship building to secure gifts and donations.
- Lead annual Premier Fund Drive and participate in special fundraising events.
Reporting Relations: The ED reports to the Board of Directors, through the board chair and works collaboratively with the Artistic Director. The ED supervises administrative staff and contracted personnel.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) plus a minimum of one year of experience in non-profit administration, project management or fund development/grant writing and community engagement.
This hybrid position features a flexible schedule with evening and weekend responsibilities. Compensation includes a competitive salary, paid vacation time and stipends for professional development opportunities.
